Mind Matters recognise that our ability to enhance the well-being and performance of

20 years of applied experience

The Mind Matters team is built from experienced Clinicians (NHS Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapistsas well as successful business executives and coaches who all possess a broad and deep understanding of the application of mindfulness. 

We have experienced the benefits that can be derived from training our minds and our attention to 

focus more clearly and with greater awareness. 

We have also seen the benefits of training people to respond appropriately 

and creatively to situations, without constantly resorting to 

pre-conditioned and automatic reactions.  




Angela O'Brien

Angela leads the Clinical Team of Mind Matters. With over 25 years experience in the NHS she is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist heading a team of Psychologists and Psychological Therapists within a large NHS Foundation Trust. 

She is trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (a mindfulness based cognitive therapy) and is an expert in the field. Mindfulness skills are a core component of this therapeutic approach.

Equally adept at applying her expertise across the public and private sectors, Angela coaches and trains individuals and teams to enhance their personal performance to enable achievement of their full potential. 

She delivers training, seminars and workshops in the practice of mindfulness to NHS and social care bodies, corporate entities, as well as to schools and educational institutions. 


Libby Betts

Libby possesses over 20 years experience within the NHS as a qualified Psychiatric Social Worker. 

She has developed many skills which are equally applicable in the public and private sectors and she is a trained practitioner and therapist in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Libby has extensive experience in the development and execution of training packages and workshops focused on applying mindfulness to enhance well-being and the release of the potential of individuals and teams. 

Her programmes have been delivered to professionals in the commercial sector as well as within the NHS, social care agencies and education institutions


Cat Warwick

Cat has more than 10 years experience working in the NHS, originally as a qualified Occupational Therapist and subsequently has practiced in mental health as a specialist practitioner.

Cat is an experienced Dialectical Behaviour Therapist providing Mindfulness training and psychological therapy to NHS patients and staff. She has a wealth of experience in mindfulness and remains passionate about the benefits that the application of Mindfulness can provide. 

Cat has additionally delivered training packages to the wider health community and local authority staff in core Mindfulness skills.


Psychological Therapists

In addition to our principal clinical team we also draw upon the expertise of highly skilled Psychological Therapistswho possess a wealth of experience in the mental health and well-being field. 

They are trained in the evidence based therapies which are commonly recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). This would include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy, Compassion focused approaches and of course Mindfulness. 

All the team have many years experience of delivering therapeutic interventions within the NHS, often with the most challenging and complex client groups. In addition they are all well practised in providing Mindfulness training and skills workshops.



Marie-Anne van Ingen

Marie-Anne began her career as a Training and Development Executive and over the last 30 years has extended her experience to cover roles including; Group Executive Board Director, CEO, Sales & Marketing Director and Management Consultant. 

She has a wealth of experience of building businesses, from company start-ups to multi-national, 10,000 person businesses. Marie-Anne has been responsible for large change management programmes and consulting assignments with organisations and businesses across the private and public sectors.

Marie-Anne has built many successful teams and company cultures. She was first introduced to and trained in Mindfulness in 2005 and introduced the approach to client organisations as a result. 


Terry O'Brien

Terry developed his career as a Human Resources and Training professional. He has over 25 years’ experience as a Management Consultant, Chief Operating Officer and HR Director, dealing with client organisation across both the public and private sectors. 

Terry was introduced to Mindfulness as a personal development approach in 2010, which led to him subsequently train in Mindfulness. He has a track record of delivering significant business change as a key member of Management Boards and has seen first-hand the benefits of applying Mindfulness in a practical way to both individuals and teams.

Terry’s major responsibilities have centred upon delivering growth and operational effectiveness through significant change management programmes. Mindfulness has formed part of many of these initiatives

Kathy is a Human Resource professional with a wide experience across both the private and the public sector. Having worked in large corporate environments at Director Level, Kathy has been a Management Consultant for over 12 years. 

She has experienced particular success in developing and delivering business driven management development and training solutions in a cost effective and pragmatic way.

Kathy possesses the ability to ensure that training and development interventions, which include Mindfulness, focus on delivering positive and sustainable change within organisations.  


Lesley Monaghan

Lesley’s background is as a Global HR Director in telecoms, technology and professional services operating across geographies and complex matrix organisations.

As a strong advocate of applying mindfulness in the workplace, she has a track record of enabling business and individual change and possesses a strong focus upon leadership development and talent management.

In her consultancy capacity, Lesley has achieved great success as a qualified corporate executive and personal performance coach. She is a NLP practitioner and a member of the International Association for NLP. She has deep experience of creating managing and embedding change within a wide variety of organisations. 


In addition to the core team, Mind Matters draw on a wide geographical network of professionals and practitioners, 

who operate under management of Mind Matters.  All are individually accredited by Mind Matters.
